Mrs. Nirmala was more than a founder—she was a pioneer who transformed the beauty landscape of Trichy.
In 1995, when salons were hidden away in small rooms inside homes, she envisioned something larger: a professional, accessible, and welcoming space in the heart of the city. From humble beginnings in a single room in front of her house, she expanded Reshmi Salon to Singarathope, right in the city’s bustling market area.
Nirmala was not only a trained cosmetologist and aromatherapist, but a leader with unmatched passion. At a time when professional beauty education was rare, she invested in her craft in Pune, bringing those standards to Trichy.
But her true legacy lies in her values. She believed beauty was for everyone, and opportunity too. She hired women who were breadwinners, broke rigid beauty stereotypes, and fostered a culture of inclusivity and empowerment long before it was mainstream.
Her personal touch, vision for quality at accessible prices, and commitment to delivering exceptional experiences shaped Reshmi Salon into a trusted name for nearly three decades. Though we lost her in 2020, her spirit guides every service we deliver today.
I’m Madona Darshini, and I’m honoured to lead Reshmi Salon as its Creative Head.
My journey began at St. Joseph’s Convent, followed by a B.Tech in Bioengineering from SASTRA University. But it was here—amidst the laughter, stories, and artistry of Reshmi—that I found my true calling. In 2013, I chose to carry forward my mother’s legacy with purpose and pride.
I trained in hairdressing in Bombay, earned my diploma in Skin and Hair from C&G (City & Guilds), and learned makeup artistry from some of India’s top professionals. But my deepest lesson came from something personal: my own birthmark.
I once doubted if makeup could ever look natural on me. Over time, I discovered its true power—not to mask, but to celebrate who I am. This experience shaped my philosophy as an artist and as a leader: “Don’t cover. But to Uncover.”
At Reshmi, that’s our promise. We don’t transform brides into someone else; we help them see their own beauty more clearly. We listen deeply. We honour their vision for their big day.
